Brad shoots a 9 under 63 at the Knoxville Open 15/06/2009
Brad shot a 9 under 63 this morning at the Knoxville Open Presented by Food City played in Tennessee.
Finishing at 20 under par for the tournament Brad was club house leader
and had to wait for the 5 groups behind him to come in to see if there
was a requirement to play some more golf.
Kevin Johnson (US) was sitting at 21 under par but bogeyed the 15th to
bring him back to 20 under par and David (AUS) was also sitting on 20
under par with the 18th hole a par 5.
Brad called me not long after walking off and said he was feeling great and would wait to see if he had a play off to attend to.
Kevin pard the 18th and David bogeyed it so it was off to a play off
with Kevin Johnson who had also won in a playoff just two weeks ago at
the Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
Both Brad and Kevin birdied the first playoff hole so back to the 18th tee.
Brad birdie putt just sat on the side of the cup not cooperating by
falling in so with Kevin having a 10inch putt for birdie it play off
over.
So this is Brads best performance on the Nationwide Tour, his previous
best finish was 4th place finish at the Oregon Classic Presented by
Kendall AG late last year and now sits at 21st on the Order of Merit.
Its a nine hour drive over the next two days to the next event so Brad
will had a few hours drive this evening before enjoying a few quite
ones with a few good mates.
